2 SL students participate in Young Scientists Competition in Germany

For the first time in history, two Sri Lankan students will be participating in the Young Scientists Competition in Germany. This will be held for the 24th time from 16th to 22nd April at Stuttgart, Germany.
Jithendran Jute Sajith of Siththi Vinayagam Hindu College Mannar will present the ‘Modification of Microbial fuel cells via the immobilization of the anaerobe Clostridium butyricum and Escherichia coli-XII blue.’
Rakindu Wickramaratna of Nalanda College will present the ‘Deposition of air pollutants on pollen grains and occurrence of respiratory allergies among humans.’
Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education, handed them their tickets on 7th April.
The Science section of the Ministry of Education chose six out of the sixteen science projects from provincial level, and forwarded them to the Young Scientists Association. Out of the six these two projects were selected.
