Fashion extravaganza at British Cosmetics graduation

The Graduating Class of 2016

The annual student graduation ceremony of British Cosmetics was held at Hilton Residencies on the 14th February, with the participation of Anuradha Wijekoon, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Education, as the Chief Guest.

The Guests of Honour for the evening were Adrian Mendus, Commercial Specialist of the US Embassy, Mufthy Hashim, Regional Director of City & Guilds for South Asia, Vajira Perera, Director of the TVEC, and award-winning actress Sangeetha Weeraratne.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Nirosha Jagodaarachchi, CEO and Technical Director of British Cosmetics commended the service rendered by the trainers at the Academy to help empower the students as fully-fledged professionals. ‘Today you showcase your talent on stage and go out into the world, fully empowered and with your heads held up high,” she told the students.

The graduation night included a fashion extravaganza showcasing the talents of the outgoing students of the British Cosmetics Academy. Choreographed by former Miss Sri Lanka, Rozanne Diasz, the gala parade comprised of six segments: Beach, Fire, Floral, Bird, Sky, and Metal.

The trainers and staff of British Cosmetics also put together a ‘Cut and Colour’ segment, bringing to life British Cosmetics’ portfolio of colour products. The after-graduation soiree was lit by an ‘Evening Wear’ segment by Ruchira Karunaratne of Rebel, as well as a ‘Bridal Collection’ segment by Ruchira and Michael Wijesuriya.
