Government allocates Rs. 30 Million for prevention of Malaria

Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne said, that the government has alllocated Rs. 30 Million for the prevention of Malaria in the country this year.
Despite Sri Lanka being a Malaria free country now, the minister warned of the catastrophe that might be caused if it be left unchecked.
The Minister further revealed, that a Malaria patient was recently reported at the Kalubowila teaching hospital where a migrant who was affected with the disease was identified as a positive malaria case.
He further advised vigilance against a number of possible diseases that could be transmitted by those coming into the country from ‘vulnerable countries.’
Nevertheless, Health officials and doctors are capable of identifying and treating the disease.
