Sail Lanka Charter hosts VIP guests onboard The Sapphire

The Sail Lanka Charter hosted two exclusive events on 15th February onboard its luxury yacht, The Sapphire at Dikowita Port. The programme aimed to showcase the fleet of the Sail Lanka Charter and the potential of yachting as a key feature in tourism, to improve the national economy.

Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Fisheries, and several government officials from the Ceylon Fishery Harbour Cooperation, the Cey-Nor Foundation and the Export Development Board, Corporate sector guests and representatives from various travel agencies were seen on the guest list.  

“We hope that the guests were able to learn more about our unique luxury yachts and travel services. We look forward to helping Sri Lanka become a thriving destination for luxury yachting experiences as well a hub for yacht manufacturing,” said Pierre Pringiers, the Chairman of Sail Lanka Charter

Mr. Pierre Pringiers made a donation to the Lions Club,to build a new skill development center in Biyagama under the ‘Building a Future Foundation’ (BAFF). This center will offer youth training opportunities for marine, boating and yachting related jobs. The Lions Club District Governor Nimal Semadheera and Cabinet Treasurer Kaushal were present, the third EXCO meeting of the Lions’ Toastmaster Club was held afterwards.

Also in attendance was the Export Development Board, the Board of Investment and the Boat Technology Institute, interested in learning about the future of yachting in Sri Lanka. BAFF POLYMECH, a sister company of Sail Lanka Charter, sent over its representatives as well.

Sail Charter Lanka offers luxurious yachting experiences, relaxed coastal cruising and dining. Guests can experience breath-taking vistas of the island’s tropical waters and the rich marine life. Mini cruises can be booked to three to six days from the south coast cruises to Jaffna.
